Tomorrow Wyoming wolves will finally get their day in court. Defenders’ attorneys will ask a federal judge to put Wyoming wolves back on the endangered species list – exactly where they belong!
Wyoming Wolves Finally Get Their Day in Court!
Please make a generous donation today – for the wolves, and other wildlife who face uncertain futures in the wild.
In 2011, wolf-haters in Congress opened the floodgates to a merciless wave of killings by stripping wolves in Montana and Idaho of federal protection. A year later, FWS delisted Wyoming wolves as well. Defenders of Wildlife lawyers immediately announced intentions to sue.
Nearly 2,000 wolves have fallen to hunters’ bullets, snares, and predator control in the Northern Rockies since 2011. It’s a sad victory for politics over science and conservation.
The Wyoming delisting should never have happened. It was based on a faulty use of science to declare recovery – and now FWS is trying to justify delisting across the entire lower 48 states!
The war against wolves is spreading. The historic recovery of wolves from their near annihilation is not yet finished – and is now in jeopardy.
Tomorrow is a crucial day for Wyoming wolves. We know that with you on our side we’ll be able to continue fighting for America’s wolves. Please make a generous donation today to help us keep up this fight!
There is so much at stake in this lawsuit. That’s why your support today will make a critical difference, not only in Wyoming, but wherever wolves roam.
With your help, we’re fighting for the wolves.
- We’ve gone to court to demand that federal bureaucrats do their jobs and finish the urgent work of wolf restoration;
- We’re fighting in Washington to stop the proposed delisting of nearly all gray wolves in the lower 48 states;
- We’re on the ground in local communities to dispel ignorance and counter anti-wolf propaganda; and
- And we’re working with ranchers, private landowners and others to pioneer non-lethal strategies so that wolves and livestock can peacefully coexist.
America’s wolves belong to all of us. The reckless killing has to stop.
Your help will never come at a more important moment. Won’t you donate today?
Thank you for all you do!
The war against wolves is spreading. The historic recovery of wolves from their near- annihilation is not yet finished – and is now in jeopardy.
Please donate today to support our efforts to reverse this misguided decision.
It was an awful day last year: the Michigan legislature and some special interest groups rammed through a law—with virtually no debate—to start hunting Michigan’s vulnerable wolf population for the first time in decades.
Some other Michigan volunteers and I got together and knew something had to be done. We’ve spent decades helping the wolf recover from the brink of extinction, and with only 658 wolves in Michigan, we couldn’t let the same practices resume that put them in jeopardy in the first place.
We’ve fought back. We’re crisscrossing the state gathering signatures for a ballot measure campaign to save this iconic species. None of this would have been possible without the Humane Society Legislative Fund.
Please click here to donate now and help HSLF continue to be a force for us in Michigan and for humane laws across the country.
When Michigan’s wolves and our volunteers needed help, HSLF was there. When a group of state politicians rammed through a cruel and unnecessary wolf hunting season, HSLF was there. When the legislature then passed a second bill to silence the voters and subvert our referendum, HSLF was there again to help us fight back.
And as we continue to hit the pavement in ten degree temperatures gathering signatures and educating voters about the need to save Michigan’s wolves, HSLF is there for us—just like they are there for other volunteers and animal lovers across the country. Like in Maine, where voters are working around the clock to stop the cruel hounding, baiting and trapping of that state’s majestic bear population—the only state in the nation that allows all three of these inhumane and unsporting practices.
But HSLF can’t do all this work without your help. Please help the efforts of volunteers like me and other volunteers across the country by making a donation to HSLF today.
We’ll put your gift to work to help protect Michigan’s wolves, bears in Maine, along with other animals that face threats—from abusive puppy mills to vicious animal fighting to cruel confinement on massive factory farms and more.
On behalf of all our volunteers across the country, thank you for your support, and for all you do for animals.
