The November 5 Election Day in Virginia is fast approaching and all month long PFAW has been mobilizing volunteers and airing targeted TV ads to defeat dangerous Tea Party gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli. We also hosted a “telephone town hall” briefing for our members on our efforts.
Ken Cuccinelli is getting last minute help and we need to keep pace. We just found out he got another six-figure donation from the Republican Governors Association. And a new Tea Party Super PAC started airing ads for him — that’s seven total.
In addition to his new financial support, he’s calling in a cavalcade of Tea Party heroes to campaign for him in the closing days — Scott Walker, Ron Paul, Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio, and more.
The most recent polls show the race getting very tight near the end, so we’ll continue to fire on all cylinders in these critical last days — because the last thing we need in the most watched race of 2013 is a major electoral defeat at the hands of the Tea Party, which would give them the momentum heading into next year’s midterms.

The Tea Party shut down our government and drove our economy to the brink of default. It’s time to send a powerful message to the Republicans that we want better leadership in Congress.
I’ve been honored to fight for you in Washington but now I need your help. Monday is the most critical deadline of the year. We are just one year from the election and my campaign is gearing up against my Tea Party opponent.
It’s time to deliver John Boehner and the Tea Party Republicans a strong message: we will not tolerate their partisan games.
One month ago, many people laughed at the idea that Democrats could take back the House in 2014.
But today, because of what you’ve done to hold Republicans accountable, polls show that 37 Congressional swing seats are in play — and we only need to win back 17 of them.
Republicans are beginning to feel the aftershocks of their reckless behavior, but if we want to follow through on it, we have to dig in and keep investing our resources for the long haul.
As we’ve seen in the past few weeks having someone like Louise in Congress is essential to making sure our families have a fair deal. This is the first fundraising deadline since the shutdown and that means things could get interesting.
With the Tea Party holding our government hostage and putting our economy in danger of default, it’s clear we cannot have any more obstructionists in Congress. Especially like Louise’s Tea Party opponent.
Her announced opponent has gone so far to make anti women comments about their ability to serve in combat.
We need to make sure Louise has the resources she needs to keep her fighting for us in Congress. Which is why we need you to step up now and rush Louise a contribution before our big deadline. Donate here >>
This is when it counts. We must act now.
Want to know what a super-charged field program looks like?
Our team — a hundred organizers, hundreds of volunteer leaders, and tens of thousands of volunteers — has knocked over a million and a half doors during this campaign. And we’re hoping to reach two million before polls close Tuesday night.
Those are unprecedented numbers for a governor’s race in Virginia.
I don’t want to toot my team’s horn. But if things go they way we hope on Tuesday, I know a lot of organizers I’m going to want to thank first.
With six days left, the field team’s work to Get Out the Vote is ramping up. And it’s up to all of us to make sure the campaign has the resources to support their work.
We’re just $58,278 from hitting our GOTV Fund goal by tomorrow’s midnight deadline. Will you chip in $5 to make sure we meet it and can support our field team in these closing days?
A hundred field organizers can’t knock two million doors alone. Even 500 of the most talented, committed organizers in the world would fall short.
That’s why we invested early in building a grassroots organization that relies on the incredible contributions of hundreds of volunteer leaders and tens of thousands of volunteers.
Every one of them is giving their all to stop Ken Cuccinelli and elect Terry McAuliffe on Tuesday.
Now we need to do our part to make sure they have everything they need — literature and gas cards for canvassing and, yes, pizza to keep them going.
To make sure we hit our GOTV Fund goal and can give our incredible field team all the support they need these next six days.
Let’s finish strong,
Just when we thought Texas women had won, it turns out they have to keep fighting.
I can’t even believe this, but the federal appeals court actually accepted the Texas GOP’s emergency appeal and now, because of them, millions of Texas women could be unable to access the health care they deserve.
While Republicans in Texas and across the country celebrate, we cannot hang our heads and say game over. We must make sure, come next November, these Republicans have no authority over women’s bodies. We must fight back.
And we fight back by electing strong, pro-choice Democratic women governors like Wendy Davis, Mary Burke, and Allyson Schwartz. Can I count on you to help us by making a contribution to EMILY’s List right now?
Our candidates know how important it is for women to be in charge of their own health decisions and will fight to ensure that women will always have the right to choose regardless of geography.
Donate to EMILY’s List right now to help elect candidates like Wendy, Mary, and Allyson!
Let’s make it happen.
BREAKING: Texas Abortion Restrictions Declared Unconstitutional
This is good news. A major provision of the law that had Wendy Davis standing up for 13 hours was just declared unconstitutional.
But the good news might not last. Because the GOP already plans to file an emergency appeal to the ruling. It’s clear that this decision won’t stop them from trying to legislate women’s bodies.
Thankfully, Democratic women governors will. Women like Wendy Davis in Texas, Mary Burke in Wisconsin, and Allyson Schwartz in Pennsylvania.
They will be the last line of defense against attacks on women’s reproductive rights — attacks that have been proven unconstitutional.
This is exactly why we are fighting so hard to put these women and many more in governors’ mansions across the country.
We are still 4,000 donations away from our October goal — we only have until midnight Thursday to make this happen. Donate right now to make sure Wendy, Mary, Allyson, and the rest of our amazing women can keep fighting for us as long as it takes.
Before I came to EMILY’s List, I spent plenty of time in Wisconsin fighting to elect strong progressive candidates and I saw firsthand just how destructive Scott Walker was as governor.
And right now, Wisconsin is ranked among the bottom half of states for women based on economic, health, and leadership factors.
But that hasn’t stopped the right-wing special interest groups like Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce from trying to bury those numbers under an avalanche of advertisements to mask the actual destruction that is happening throughout the state.
So far they have spent one million dollars trying to buy your ignorance.
Sign your name today. Join EMILY’s List and One Wisconsin Now and send Gov. Walker and WMC a message — it’s about time they respect Wisconsin women.
But thankfully, Mary Burke is running to become Wisconsin’s next governor. She is ready to fight these special interest groups and start making Wisconsin a better place for women and families. Mary has helped create thousands of new jobs, promoted minority and women entrepreneurs, and kept Wisconsinites safe.
Scott Walker and his buddies are scared. They know the only way to beat Mary Burke is to mask the truth.
It’s time Scott Walker stops catering to the special interest groups and starts putting the women and families in Wisconsin first.
Elections are won by seizing opportunities.
In just a few months, there’s a crucial congressional special election in Florida featuring an amazing EMILY’s List candidate, former Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink.
Alex is running for Florida’s 13th Congressional seat. While this district has long been held by a Republican, it broke for President Obama in 2008 and 2012, and Alex carried it during her razor-close 2010 gubernatorial campaign.
The best way to stop the radical Republicans in the House is to elect more Democratic pro-choice women. Donate today and help Alex Sink win this critical swing seat in the House.
Right now, Alex needs the support of the EMILY’s List community. Her special election is just around the corner — the sooner we’re able to help, the stronger her campaign will be.
We must seize this opportunity — for Alex, for Florida, and to take back the House.
Let’s do this.
